I updated through Kies last night.  The version on my phone says L710VPUCMK3, but the version listed on the Spring site says L710VPMK3.  I was having some glitches after the download.  The notification bar was showing downloads of jpeg and pdf files.  I cleared them out, and they would reappear moments later.  One forum said to power off, press volume up, home, and power keys simultaneously and select wipe cache partition.  (I had been able to perform this function previously to the download, but now it won't go to that screen).  I deleted the files and the notifications still popped up.  I did a factory reset of my phone, the notifications no longer show up.  I can no longer connect to Kies….it says my phone is unrecognizable.  I called Sprint, the person said it was a Samsung issue.  Here are my questions that perhaps someone could answer.
2.  astrology Why can't I perform a cache partition wipe using the  home, volume up, and power keys.  (The top will say recovery mode, but as soon as I release my fingers from the buttons, the phone either powers on completely or will not power on at all).

Yes, it is version 3.  I had to update it before it notified me that I had an update for my phone.  Did you receive the 4.3 update?  If so, what is your version number? Report Abuse Like ( 0 )
Thanks.  Maybe some of the functions such as the Developer Options under the settings, and being able to wipe the cache once powering on the phone by pressing the power, home, and volume up keys no longer work with this update.    I guess if others have any the same problem, maybe a new update will fix it.  astrology Report Abuse Like ( 0 )
I have five S3's on my account. My youngest daughter's updated via the OTA. The version on her phone is the same as yours. She has not had any problems with the downloads reappearing. The volume up/home/power does boot into recovery mode and the option to clear the cache partition is there.
Sounds like you may have gotten a bad download, but that's just an uneducated guess. When I connect to Kies 3 it says I'm up to date. The other three phones have not updated yet. Wife and daughter's are in no hurry. They're fine with the current version. Report Abuse Like ( 0 )

Thanks for all the info you provided....it was very useful.  I did uninstall and reinstall Kies, and now it does recognize my phone.  I was also able to access astrology the Developer Mode.  Would I be able to uninstall astrology the 4.3 update and try to reinstall it?  Report Abuse Like ( 0 )
