At the foot of Mount Arayat in Philippines stands a large, pyramidal sculpture. It is called Bale Batu and is a creation of the local artist Jesus Padilla, who goes by the name Apung hiss of their medkunstnere. He spent more than half his life, throughout four decades to build this temple. The result is something you never expected.
Apung created Temple of cement and powdered mangafox mountain stones. He earned money to his edifice by selling vegetables mangafox in the lowlands. He wife, Teresita, did not think he'd be able to do it. But he was determined to finish. He began the construction of the 70s. Over four decades worked Apung diligently on his masterpiece. mangafox He knew what he wanted to build from the beginning, and his plans changed barely over the years. He was not formally educated, but Apung hiss was able to build a temple that has been through the years. Although there have been earthquakes in the area, they have not overturned Bale Batu. In March 2007, felt not Apung so good. He asked his wife if she could cook him some tinola, a form of soup. He went down to the lower part of his own edifice. She came to the temple and gave him soup and he ate it ... and took his last breath. mangafox Bale Batu became his tomb.
At the end of it all, after spending four decades building mangafox his dream vision of a beautiful temple, it was Apung hiss own burial. Although it is sad, it is also beautiful to know that he will always rest in peace in the temple which he loved so much and which he built his life around (literally.)
