Today is the last day in Malaysia now. 6 o'clock in the morning we go to the airport and fly to Kuala Lumpur, further to Colombo in Sri Lanka and take the bus to Unawatuna. Where should we be in six days.
Today we have gotten ourselves a proper training session up to Penang Hill. It was almost 700 meters rise of over 5 kilometers. We went around 8pm, so it was fortunately not too hot. On the way back we stopped Kek Lok Si Temple, which is the largest Guan Yin temple in Malaysia and has the second largest Guan Yin statue in the world. Guan Yin is a female form of bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. A bodhisattva is a person who has reached enlightenment but who have chosen to remain in the regeneration run, instead of going to nirvana, to help people. Bodhisattvas are crucial in Mahayana Buddhism.
